Penangites bid farewell to Sunrise Towers' McDonald's

    GEORGE TOWN: The 27-year-old McDonald's Sunrise Towers in Gurney Drive bids farewell to Penangites as its doors are set to close at midnight tomorrow.
    The popular landmark in Gurney will close for good at 12am following its last day of operation.
    Its operations manager Elena Khoo, in her farewell speech, expressed her appreciation and thanked everyone for their kind support over the years.
    "We thank you for 27 fantastic years of friendship, great times and beautiful memories, " she said to a loud round of applause.
    Crew members from the outlet will be reassigned to other McDonald's restaurants in Penang.
    When met, Lim Pat Lin, 44, said she had wonderful memories in the outlet as she used to hang out there with her friends back then.
    She said the memories would always remain in her mind although the outlet will no longer be in operation.
