RM2k fine for man who distributed 'Ah Long' flyers

JOHOR BARU: A man was fined RM2,000 in default three-months' jail for distributing Ah Long flyers and banners by the magistrate's court today.
Gan Kah Seng, from Benut, Pontian, was charged under the Moneylenders Act 1951 with helping loan shark carry out illegal moneylending activities by distributing Ah Long banners. He admitted to committing the offence.
According to the facts of the case, he helped disseminate 339,000 flyers and 7,536 banners of Ah Long at a house along Jalan Perjiranan 11, Bandar Dato Onn here, at around 8.30am on July 21.
The case was heard before magistrate Noor Aisyah, while DPP Fithril Hakim Ab Jalil prosecuted.
Gan, who was represented by lawyer Goh Sze Han, paid the fine.
