LUXURY jewellery brand Bulgari is set to showcase some of its spectacular heritage collection, worn by the likes of Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, and Sophia Loren, as part of an exclusive new exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, Australia.
The exhibit, titled "Italian Jewels: Bulgari Style," will run from September 30 to January 29, 2017, with up to 80 pieces to go on display from Bulgari's archives, alongside multimedia assets, highlighting the brand's enduring relationships with the stars of Hollywood and Italian cinema, according to WWD.
Spanning from the 1930s until today, featured pieces will include a 1962 7.40-carat emerald ring with 12 pear-shaped diamonds that was given to Elizabeth Taylor by Richard Burton during the filming of Cleopatra, as well as a Colombian emerald pendant and necklace, a wedding gift from Burton in 1964.
The show, developed exclusively for the NGV, also marks the museum's first exhibition of a luxury jewellery brand, according to Amanda Dunsmore, NGV senior curator for international decorative arts and antiquities. — AFP Relaxnews
