Comintel in tripartite pact for US$43m ICT project in Guinea

    PETALING JAYA: Comintel Corp Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to implement innovative telecommunications and ICT solutions in Republic of Guinea for an estimated US$42.85 million (RM173.2 million) project.
    The tripartite MoU involves Comintel, the Guinea government and Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Bhd (Exim Bank).
    Comintel said in a statement yesterday that the project involves the implementation of telecommunications and ICT solutions in Guinea.
    “The said project is to provide demand-driven innovative telecommunications solutions that can further improve service delivery in education, healthcare, data management and others,” it said.
    It will focus on supplying, installing and commissioning telecommunications and ICT equipment based on needs and feasibility studies in areas defined by Guinea.
    The project is expected to begin early next year and be completed in two years.
    Comintel said it is ready to take on a bigger and more advanced role in providing cutting-edge technology and services to its customers, both in the domestic and international markets with convergence capability of data, voice and image.
    Comintel’s share price fell half a sen to close at 77 sen yesterday, with 1.56 million shares traded.
