KENNY Rogers Roasters (KRR) has once again teamed up with Food Aid Foundation (FAF). This time it brings the joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri to 20 children from the Asnaf Al Barakh home.
CARE TO SHARE
The intimate Jamuan Raya get together involved representatives from both organisations and was attended by Edan Syah, Malaysia’s fastest marathon runner, apart from the home’s residents and caretakers.
Berjaya Roasters (M) Sdn Bhd general manager Esther Woo shared that Hari Raya at KRR has always been about togetherness and sharing the festivities with the underprivileged. “This year, we were moved to celebrate it with the loving and wonderful children of Asnaf Al Barakh.”
The undertaking by the KRR team of helping others in the community has been embedded within the company’s values. The experience was an uplifting one for the KRR volunteers.
FOOD AND FUN
Light and interesting activities brought joy and smiles to the children. From muffin decorating to a session of art and craft, the children aged between two and 17 were seen having a whale of a time. FAF project director Norhayati Ismail was also happy to witness the joyful occasion. “This year’s Jamuan Raya celebration with KRR has brought about an elated feeling ...,” she said.
Representing the home was caretaker Aisyah Mohd Razali, who commended both the organisations, as well as Edan for spending time with the children.
“Thank you for welcoming us to this lovely Raya gathering. We are glad to have you all here to celebrate the festive occasion and joyous mood with us,” she said. The evening ended with everyone sitting down to a hearty, nutritious and delicious KRR meal.
