141 foreigners arrested under Ops Nyah 2, Ops Noda Khas in the city centre

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 141 foreigners were detained under "Ops Nyah 2" and "Ops Noda Khas" for various offences around the city centre this morning.
In the five-hour Ops Nyah 2 operation which began at 11pm, 67 men and 25 women aged between 20 and 45 were detained at several areas of Brickfields, Pantai Dalam and Jalan Klang Lama, here.
Kuala Lumpur deputy police chief Datuk Abdul Hamid Mohd Ali said those detained comprised nationals from Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, India, Philippines and Indonesia.
During the operation, the police from the Kuala Lumpur Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice Division (D7) also arrested a 34-year-old Indonesian man who was found with 17 cartons of various contraband cigarettes.
Abdul Hamid said under Ops Noda, 46 foreign women aged between 25 and 35, were nabbed for their involvement in prostitution and abusing their social visit passes at an entertainment outlet, in Jalan P. Ramlee, here.
"A local man believed to be the caretaker of the premises was also detained for harbouring foreigners without valid documents and for carrying out prostitution activities," he said. — Bernama
