30 bands to compete in M3 Battle of the Bands competition

KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty groups will compete in the M3 Battle Of The Bands (M3 BOTB) singing competition which will be held for three days starting Friday at M3 Mall here.
Organised by the shopping centre and in collaboration with the Malaysian Buskers Club (MYBC), the competition is also supported by the National Anti-Drugs Agency and Matic FM radio.
MYBC president Wady Hamdan said the competition had received good response as they only expected some 20 music bands would participate.
"However, 30 groups have already registered. This competition can become the best platform for young musicians to showcase their musical talent," he told reporters at a press conference, here, today.
Wady said the competition would be held from 4pm to 10pm and divided into two stages, namely, the preliminary stage which would take place on Friday and Saturday and the final stage on Sunday.
The winner will take home RM3,888 cash and a trophy, first runner-up will receive RM2,188 cash and a trophy, while second runner-up will get RM1,288 and a trophy. — Bernama
