Perseverance pays

KUALA LUMPUR Metropolitan University College (KLMUC) and Cosmopoint College held its 8th and 21st Convocation Ceremony respectively at Setia City Convention Centre recently. Both institutions are under the education arms of Cosmopoint Sdn Bhd.
A sense of pride prevailed in the air as 1,159 students from KLMUC and 1,146 from Cosmopoint College received their scrolls. These students hail from various faculties including Hospitality, Tourism and Wellness, Management and Business Technology, Engineering and Applied Technology, and Design and Creativity, to name a few. The event was attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Cosmopoint Sdn Bhd and Vice Chancellor of KLMUC, Mohamad Kamal Nawawi.
"As Cosmopoint College and KLMUC celebrate their respective 25th and 10th year anniversary, the success of our students serves as testament to how far our institution has come. For KLMUC we have grown to offer more than 45 programmes in Foundation, Diploma, Degree and MBA levels, whereas for Cosmopoint College we have 11 campuses nationwide, in which over the last 25 years we have produced more than 100,000 successful graduates," said Kamal.
Muhammad Zahin Aiman, from the Faculty of Management and Business Technology who undertook a degree in Business and Entrepreneurship Development scored an impressive final CGPA of 3.99, and Che Nur Ikhwan Nasaruddin from the Faculty of Media Studies who took a Diploma in Journalism received a final CGPA of 3.97. Both graduates bagged the Vice Chancellor Award for best student.
"I am thrilled beyond words to receive the Vice Chancellor's Award. At KLMUC, I have been taught through 'Real World Practice' that perseverance, hard work and dedication is key to success," said Muhammad Zahin.
"The dedication of KLMUC lecturers and its staff contributed greatly to my success.
"The lecturers here not only prep you on paper but our learning experiences encompass real working world scenarios. I am now better prepared for the professional world out there," Che Nur Ikhwan enthused.
To date, KLMUC has produced home-grown professionals ranging from fashion to the culinary world. One of them is Masrina Ali Munir, 21, who has participated in several competitions including Anugerah Hijau 2014 and Air Asia Ready Search Designer 2015.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Afifi is a budding talent in the culinary field. He won the first prize at Chef Adu's Cookout Competition in 2015.
All of KLMUC's and Cosmopoint College's academic programmes are endorsed and approved by the Ministry of Education and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.
