VADS launches first Cloud exchange in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (TM) unit, VADS Bhd, yesterday launched the country’s first Cloud exchange, the VADS Marketplace – an online store which offers Business-to-Business (B2B) Cloud solution.
VADS Marketplace helps customers find, buy, and immediately start using Cloud services offered on VADS Marketplace.
VADS CEO Massimo Migliuolo said that online store has huge potential and will become the company’s main business going forward.
“The impact is huge. This will be our priority number one for the next few years,” he told reporters after the launch here yesterday.
Migliuolo said VADS Marketplace offers business owners and organisations a wide selection of innovative digital business solutions that are convenient and user-friendly to enhance operation efficiency and business productivity thus increasing profitability.
This, he said, is enabled by the VADS Cloud eXchange, a platform established by VADS to meet customers needs in managing multi-cloud hosted solution.
There are more than 80 specially crafted business solution packages, categorised according to industries and types of solutions.
Migliuolo said the VADS Marketplace was designed in support of the Malaysian Digital agenda to accelerate the Malaysian digital economic growth as well as bringing back Malaysian subscribers on shore.
He said VADS Marketplace customers will be able to experience the most integrated digital business solutions to stay competitive in the business world.
“It is a one-stop centre where customers are able to acquire Cloud solutions from well-known global players as well as local independent software vendors.
He added that as a wholly owned subsidiary of TM, VADS is able to offer its customers converged solutions from Cloud, smart services right to manages services.
Meanwhile, TM’s group CEO Tan Sri Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa in a press release said the VADS Marketplace is one of the strategic drivers for TM Group’s transformation journey to go digital.
“As the nation’s leading integrated ICT/BPO services provider, TM through VADS provides services which transcends beyond borders of connectivity, with increased focus on digital and innovations,” he said.
