LAST year, Sharp developed the FP-FM40, the world’s first “air purifier with mosquito catcher features”. Recently, it added a newer model to its range.
CLEAR THE AIR
Sharp-Roxy Sales and Service Company Sdn Bhd (SRSSC) recently unveiled the FP-GM30, following the success of its predecessor in September last year. The release of the new model is a reinforcement to Sharp’s position as Southeast Asia’s number one air purifier brand.
The FP-GM30 is designed to provide 24-hour family protection throughout the year. It features the proprietary Sharp Plasmacluster Ion (PCI) Technology that protects members of one’s household from viruses, allergens and microbes. One can also keep dust and tiny particles, such as PM2.5, away with the air purifier function.
Sharp reports that the contraption can reduce up to 91% of Culex; 73%of Aedes and 72%of houseflies. It also comes with a haze mode that helps reduce toxic substances and pollution in the surrounding air.
FORM AND FUNCTION
Feel reassured with the design’s unique mechanisms that aid in capturing and trapping mosquitoes, thus reducing the threat of mosquito-related diseases. The FP-GM30 is fitted with an LED ultra-violet light and made with a black body that is highly attractive to mosquitoes and other bugs.
Air inlets are designed narrow, adapting to the behavioural tendency of mosquitoes that like to hide in these small spaces. The powerful air flow of the air purifier acts as a suction to draw in mosquitoes while the replaceable single layer glue sheets effectively seal and prevent the mosquitoes from escaping.
Compared to its predecessor, the FP-GM30 is more compact and recommended for smaller areas of 21m 2. The FP-GM30 retails at RM769, inclusive of GST.
BROAD BENEFITS
At the launch, SRSSC managing director Takaya Wakasumi also announced the return of the “1HOME 1PLASMACLUSTERCSR Programme” beginning Aug 1, 2016.
“As a business entity, we cannot run away from focusing on profits but we also have a corporate responsibility to give back to the community that we are operating in,” said Wakasumi.
“I believe that it is an ideal time to restart the programme in August as it is Malaysia’s Merdeka month and we hope that our small contribution will help make Malaysia a better society.”
Under the programme, every sold unit of Sharp products with PCI technology will generate a RM3 contribution that will go towards SRSSC’s corporate social responsibility kitty. During the programme’s last run from 2011 to 2013, SRSSC was able to support charitable causes such as the National Kidney Foundation, the National Cancer Society of Malaysia and the Malaysian Council for Children Welfare.
