PUTRAJAYA: There were no Malaysian casualties in the recent bombing incidents and attacks in Thailand and Pakistan, said the Foreign Ministry.
The ministry in a statement today said Malaysia strongly condemned the incidents.
It advised Malaysians travelling to Thailand or who are residing in Thailand to remain vigilant and pay close attention to personal safety at all times.
"They are also encouraged to register themselves, either by email or fax, with the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok or the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla," it said.
A series of bombing incidents were reported in several areas across Thailand, namely in Trang, Hua Hin, Surat Thani, Phuket and Nakhon Si Thammarat between Thursday and Friday, with a number of casualties.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian government also expressed its deepest condolences and sympathies to Pakistan and the bereaved families of victims in the Aug 8 and Aug 11 attacks in Quetta, Baluchistan.
The attacks claimed at least 73 lives and resulted in countless casualties.
"The Malaysian Government regards these latest incidents as acts of terrorism and hopes that the perpetrators will be brought to justice," it said.
The ministry through the Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad will continue to monitor the situation. — Bernama
