KUALA LUMPUR: With the arrest of two wanted local militants on Thursday, police have in their custody all those responsible for the Movida pub hand grenade attack that occurred on June 28 in Puchong.
Sources said the case was fully solved with the arrest of the men who were holed up in a hut at a mountainous terrain in Kuala Kerai, Kelantan.
Police said the two men were accessories to the hand grenade attack which left eight people wounded.
The suspects who fled the Klang Valley and went into hiding after the attack had also planned to launch another hand grenade attack at an entertainment centre in Johor Baru.
They were waiting for orders from local Islamic State (IS) militant leader Mohamad Wanndy Mohamed Jedi to initiate the strike.
A M67 hand grenade they had planned to use was also seized by the federal police Special Branch's counter-terrorism unit at Batu Pahat during the operation.
Two other men who had arranged and assisted in hiding the suspects at the hut were also held in Kuala Krai and Batu Pahat in the operation that was jointly carried out by the Tiger Platoon of General Operation's Force.
Police arrested two of the main suspects of the Movida cafe case just days after they hurled a bomb at the pub.
The suspects, Sabahan Jonius Ondie@Jahali, 24 and Imam Wahyudin Karjono, 20, were charged on July 25 with attempt murder and the possession of a hand grenade.
Sources also revealed that police had obtained from the men that there were eight more hand grenades smuggled in from a neighbouring country in the hands of local militants. Police are yet to trace the explosives.
