KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians should not create chaos but instead work with the government to resolve any issue, said Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin (pix).
The country has been independent for the past 59 years and those given the task to govern have been entrusted with developing the nation for the sake of progress, he added.
He appealed to those wanting to stir chaos to resolve their problems with the government and the same goes to countries wishing to change the landscape of Malaysia’s leadership.
With regards to security, he said the country's high ranking officers are aware of the situation, he said in a reply to a question on potential threats that may affect the country’s development at a press conference today.
He earlier launched the "Saya Anak Malaysia" campaign in conjunction with Independence Day at the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) here.
Hamzah, who is also an Umno supreme council member, was unfazed with the newly-formed political pact by PAS and Ikatan called Gagasan Sejahtera (Gagasan).
He said if Umno members remain united, he is confident "we can overcome the challenges ahead."
