GEORGE TOWN: Residents at Pantai Jerjak in Sungai Nibong here can now enjoy a FIFA standard futsal court with the opening of one costing RM143,000 today.

Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Rashid Hasnon hoped the new sports facility will spur residents in his constituency to lead an active lifestyle.

"The court is not only for those who are staying nearby but also opened to the public," he said in his speech during the opening ceremony.

Those interested to rent the court for activities can contact the Penang Island City Council which is managing the facility.

Pantai Taman Jerjak Village Development Security Committee (JKKK) chairman Mohd Nadzri Idris said he hoped the youths in the area will make full use of the court.
