Vivienne Westwood to merge men's and women's collections for London Fashion Week

ICONIC British designer Vivienne Westwood has confirmed she will merge her men's and women's collections under the blanket Vivienne Westwood label, with both fall 2017 ready-to-wear ranges to be shown together at London Fashion Week Men's in January.
While Westwood's "Red Label" women's wear collection and her "Man Label" men's wear line will merge under the Vivienne Westwood label, the "Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood" collection will continue to show in Paris in October as a unisex line, with no changes to the "Anglomania", "Worlds End Collection" and accessories lines.
The move, reportedly part of an effort by the company to streamline and clarify its branding and product offer for the industry and the consumer, will also mean Westwood won't stage a show for her spring 2017 women's line in September (via WWD). Instead, Westwood will showcase the range to press and buyers via private appointments and lookbooks.
This latest announcement follows other recent moves by Westwood to further streamline and refine her company structure, which included renaming her main runway collection from "Gold Label" to "Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood" in recognition of the partnership between herself and her longtime design collaborator and husband. — AFP Relaxnews
