11STREET shoppers will be delighted to know that their contributions through the site’s charity campaign has, and will be, providing 130 students with wholesome breakfasts for the rest of this year.
SIMPLY DOING GOOD
11street’s “Do Good Deals – Beli Sambil Memberi” charity campaign was put in motion during the month of Ramadan. The campaign which ended on July 20, encouraged loyal customers of Malaysia’s fastest growing e-mall site to pay an extra RM1 on top of their Hari Raya purchases. 11street then matched each donation.
The campaign culminated with a collection of RM30,000. The money will go towards The Budimas Charitable Foundation to support its “Budimas Food Charity Fund”. The fund is said to provide impoverished students from families earning less than RM1,000 a month, with a wholesome breakfast consisting of a main course, piece of fruit and a drink.
ADDITIONAL TREATS
The contribution was handed over to the charitable foundation in a cheque. 11street also hosted a Hari Raya open house for the children of The Budimas Charitable Foundation. 11street brand ambassador Zizan Razak was present to celebrate the momentous occasion with the little ones. He also accompanied the children to a special screening of Ice Age: Collision Course during the festive party.
“At 11street, we endeavour to do whatever it takes to give back to society, so in the spirit of Hari Raya this year, we called upon our consumers to do something good for the children and society,” said 11street CEO Hoseok Kim.
HEARTFELT THANKS
“We wish to thank all our shoppers who believed in our campaign and participated in it. 11street will continue to look for more ways to give back to the community as part of our long-term commitment in thanking Malaysians for their support since our inception last year,” Kim added.
On the breakfast initiative, The Budimas Charitable Foundation principal officer Anne Rajasaikaran expressed her heartfelt thanks to 11street and fellow Malaysians.
“The foundation believes that there should be adequate and enough food for everyone. We are grateful to utilise the fund to provide the school children with a wholesome breakfast to help them kickstart their day with energy.”
While RM1 may not be much today for some, it does for others.
