CUSTOMERS at McDonald’s Malaysia can now conveniently dine with less worry. Through a partnership with Maybank, diners can pay for their purchases by simply swiping their debit, credit or MaybankPay card. This service is available at 140 McDonald’s outlets nationwide.
McDonald’s introduced the cashless payment option in line with Bank Negara Malaysia’s vision to transform Malaysia into a cashless society. Better still, no minimum purchase amount is required when paying with the cards.
SIMPLY CONVENIENT
“Here at McDonald’s, we are committed to delighting our customers with great food and service, as well as modern conveniences that enhance the overall experience of the brand,” said McDonald’s Malaysia managing director Azmir Jaafar (pix, right).
Apart from the company playing its role as a key player in serving broader national initiatives designed to move the nation forward, Azmir commented that the key advantage of cashless payments is clear.
“It’s convenient and will help customers save valuable time when making payments by simply scanning a bank card. By deploying this cashless payment system in all McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, we aim to do our part in taking Malaysia one step closer towards becoming a cashless society,” he said.
FAVOURABLE PARTNERSHIP
Maybank group president and CEO Datuk Abdul Farid Alias (pix, left) said: “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to provide unparalleled payment convenience to customers wherever we operate, as well as to support the government’s agenda in promoting cashless payments in Malaysia. It is also very much in line with our strategy to become a digital bank of choice in the region.” McDonald’s fans can expect this convenient feature at all their local McDonald’s outlets by the end of this year.
For a limited time, customers can receive a free Frozen Coke or Sundae Cone with a minimum order of RM10, when paying with this cashless option. Follow McDonald’s Malaysia on Facebook for more information.
