‘Datuk’ remanded over graft

PUTRAJAYA: A businessman, with a "Datuk" title has been remanded for five days from today to assist investigations into a corruption case of more than RM500,000 involving a logging project in the East Coast.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) obtained the remand order from magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman.
According to an official from the MACC, the 64-year-old man was detained to assist investigations under Section 16 (a) (A) of the Anti-Corruption Act 2009.
The man was detained by the MACC at his house in Bukit Jalil at 4pm on Monday. – Bernama
