PETALING JAYA: The upgrading of the One-Way Loop (OWL) system is expected to be completed before the announced deadline on Aug 31, said deputy mayor Johary Anuar.
He said the OWL is currently 98% complete and the remaining 2% involves the fixing of utilities and road resurfacing works for certain parts of the loop.
"However, there might be some delay in completing the works at Jalan Yong Shook Lin due to various activities that will be held around the vicinity like this weekend's PJ Fair 2016 and the state government's GP Run," Johary said after announcing details about MBPJ's PJ Fair 2016.
He said once the upgrading works are completed, the council would conduct an audit on the loop in terms of road safety and traffic congestion.
On the PJ Fair 2016, Johary said the council expects some 10,000 people to attend the fair which will be held from Aug 26 to 28.
"Various exciting and fun-filled activities have been planned for the fair with one of the main events being the opportunity for the crowd to take a 'wefie' with the PJ mayor himself which might be recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records for the most crowded and biggest 'wefie' ever taken," he added.
