AFTER launching a slew of products at Computex 2016 this May in Taiwan, Asus has finally brought most of them to our shores, at the recent Zenvolution Malaysia launch in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
The launch event was almost a mirror image of the earlier event in Taipei, with a few notable exceptions: the exclusion of the buzzworthy Zenbo home robot, and the addition of two new entry-level smartphones to the line-up.
These included the ZenFone 3 family, consisting of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, a flagship smartphone with advanced camera technology that takes mobile photography to the next level; the ZenFone 3, a feature-packed smartphone that brings premium design and empowering performance to users; and ZenFone 3 Ultra, a powerful smartphone with a 6.8in Full HD display that excels at entertainment.
Besides these, the two new mobile devices introduced at the event were the ZenFone 3 Laser, which takes its name from its ultra-fast 0.03 second laser auto focus which won’t let you miss crucial shots; and the Zenfone 3 Max, which features a huge 4,100mAh battery and up to 30 days standby time.
With differing price points to appeal to every consumer, everyone can be a part of the Zenvolution.
The ZenFone 3 Deluxe has two variants, ranging from RM2,599 to RM3,299 depending on onboard memory; the ZenFone 3 Ultra is RM2,599; while the ZenFone 3 has two different screen sizes – 5.2in (RM1,499) and 5.5in (RM1,699).
The more affordable smartphones, the ZenFone Laser is RM999, and the ZenFone 3 Max is RM799.
Also announced were three new additions to Asus’ mobile computing division: the ZenBook 3, an ultra-sleek and lightweight notebook with a premium aluminium design; and the Transformer 3 and Transformer 3 Pro, two variants of the brand’s versatile 2-in1 PCs, each featuring an unrivalled combination of mobility, convenience and expandability.
The Transformer 3 is the more commercial version of the convertible device, with a sleeve keyboard; while the Transformer 3 Pro has an integrated metal kickstand, much higher specs and is intended for professionals who require high performance with their device.
However, each Transformer 3 variant comes with a similar range of accessories and features, including the Asus Pen, Asus Universal Dock, Asus Audio Pod and ROG XG Station 2.
Prices for the ZenBook 3 begin at RM7,999; the Transformer 3 at RM3,199 and the Transformer 3 Pro from RM6,999.
These devices are currently available at Asus retail outlets. For further information, visit the Asus Malaysia website.
