Rafidah not throwing her weight behind Bersatu

KUALA LUMPUR: Former cabinet minister, Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, will not join the newly formed political party, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
"I am an Umno member and thus I will not join Bersatu. Furthermore, I have no idea how my name is listed among the leaders in Bersatu as I was overseas at that time," she told reporters when met at the Pan-Pacific South East Asia Women's Association (PPSEAWA) International Conference today.
Bersatu is led by former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin with former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the chairman and and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir as vice president.
Rafidah, meanwhile not specifying any particular issue, urged relevant authorities to resolve all current issues instead of dragging them.
"We should stop all the finger-pointing and blame game as we have much more urgent issues that need prompt solution," she added.
"If the problem is A then we solve that problem first before moving on to the next problem instead of trying to solve them together. Otherwise there will be confusion and disorder until those concern not sure what to do next," she said.
She added that it is also important for all not to do anything that could harm the nation, and one way is by putting the nation's interest above personal or political interest.
"If we always put self-interest before everything else then I am afraid that there would be nothing left for the younger generation.
"Hence, I sincerely hope we could just solve all the issues at hand accordingly by using the necessary laws and measures because nothing is important than the country," she stressed.
