UNDER its “Discover the World” campaign, McDonald’s Malaysia is happy to present patrons with a taste of “home”. The campaign, which kicked off with the Rio Burger, now brings you “Burger Syok”, said to especially tempt those with a love for all things spicy.
SPICY SENSATION
Inspired by a heady mix of our melting pot of cultures and flavours, Burger Syok is something Malaysians will not be able to resist. Scrumptious and tasty, it offers a whole grilled chicken thigh perfected to a melt-in-the-mouth tenderness and topped with a spicy Syok sauce that will surely receive the thumbs up. These are complemented with crisp and fresh mixed vegetables and sandwiched between warm, toasted, black and white sesame seed buns.
Feel like having it already? Why not? Pop over to your nearest McDonald’s restaurant to get a taste of this new and delicious offering that is until Sept 16, 2016. Burger Syok is sold at RM11.95 a la carte and RM14.99 in the regular McValue meal combo.
ALL THINGS MALAYSIAN
With Merdeka Day celebrations just around the corner, Malaysia’s beloved cartoonist Datuk Lat (pix, right) was called in to further amp up the Malaysian experience when indulging in the Burger Syok. The collaboration is reflected in the product packaging showcasing the artist’s iconic characters.
“Most Malaysians grew up enjoying Lat’s work, seeing their own personal stories mirrored in his captivating vignettes of Malaysian life. On our part, McDonald’s Malaysia too has served as the backdrop for many of our customers’ fondest memories for over 34 years, growing to become one of Malaysia’s most favourite quick service restaurants,” said McDonald’s Malaysia managing director Azmir Jaafar (pix, left).
The MD also shared how meaningful the collaboration is to the company.
“We aim to bring Malaysians together over our shared love and interests, particularly as we approach the upcoming celebration of Merdeka and Malaysia Day.”
Burger Syok was launched at a two-day carnival held at McDonald’s flagship restaurant in Putrajaya.
Besides games, dance performances and aerobics sessions with Ronald McDonald, fans and visitors, young and the young-at-heart, got to get up close with Datuk Lat in meet-and-greet sessions.
The artist also sketched his famous characters live on stage during the launch gambit.
