Operating hours of LRT, Monorail and RapidKL bus will be extended on Aug 30

    KUALA LUMPUR: The operating hours of Light Rail Transit System (LRT), KL Monorail and RapidKL bus will be extended at selected stations tonight, to enable the public to celebrate the eve of National Day at Dataran Merdeka here.
    According to Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana), the LRT stations of Masjid Jamek and Hang Tuah for the Sri Petaling line; KLCC and Masjid Jamek (Kelana Jaya line); and the Bukit Bintang and Hang Tuah (monorail line) will be extended until 1am.
    "The other stations will be closed as usual, users can exit at all LRT and Monorail stations."
    Our operations control centre in Subang and Ampang will closely monitor the movement of passengers at all stations to determine whether their operations also need to be extended," it said in a statement here today.
    It said RapidKL would also increase the train frequency at the three lines of the LRT and Monorail from 8pm to 1am.
    Besides that, the RapidKL bus services from Pasar Seni Bus Hub to residential areas will also be extended with the final bus departing only after the last train.
    It will involve routes 173 (Jalan Munsyi Abdullah-Taman Jasa Utama); 250 (Lebuh Ampang-Wangsa Maju); 300 (lebuh Ampang-Pandan Mewah); 450 (Jalan Silang-Terminal Kajang); 751 (Pasar Seni-Taman Sri Muda); 781 (Pasar Seni-Taman Medan); 640 (Pasar Seni-Taman Sri Manja/Taman Sri Sentosa); 602 (Pasar Seni-Puchong Prima); 780 (Pasar Seni-Kota Damansara); 180 (Pasar Seni-Taman Dato' Senu).
    RapidKL suggests those intending to celebrate National Day in Dataran Merdeka tomorrow to use the LRT and monorail services which begin at 6am, following the closure of the main roads. — Bernama
