SEPANG: A premium lounge for low-cost airline passengers to boost klia2 will open today.
AirAsia's first airport lounge, AirAsia Premium Red Lounge, is complimentary for its Premium Flatbed and Premium Flex passengers, while other international passengers can access it at RM79.
AirAsia Berhad executive chairman Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said the lounge is set to attract transit passengers and inbound tourists while strengthening the position of klia2 as Asia's low-cost hub.
"We receive at least 5,000 transit guests per day who would find services such as the AirAsia Premium Red Lounge an added convenience and a plus point to their travelling experience.
"The lounge can accommodate up to 110 guests at any one time, and we look forward to serving all guests who will experience this when we open tomorrow," he told reporters after opening the lounge yesterday.
"As the low-cost carrier (LCC) pioneer in the region, we are determined to raise the bar for low-cost travel and maintain our position as the world's best low cost airline.
"The AirAsia Premium Red Lounge, one of the first LCC lounges in the world, is our commitment in creating exceptional value for our guests through innovative products and differentiated services," he said.
The lounge, located at the international departure area of klia2, is open 24 hours daily.
