KUALA LUMPUR: Integrating yoga into Malaysian primary healthcare will be among the topics for discussion at a conference on the ancient spiritual practice to be held here on Sept 25.

The conference, to be held at Universiti Malaya, will be opened by former MIC president and current Malaysian special envoy to India and South Asia, Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu (pix).

It will be organised by the Malaysia Pranava Yoga Therapy Centre in cooperation with the university, said MPYTC founder and president Dr M. Raajamanikam, 79.

"We have speakers from various parts of the world who will share their thoughts on the benefits of yoga and how it can complement primary healthcare," he told Bernama.

Raajamanikam said Tamil Nadu Pranava Yoga Therapy and Research Academy chairman G. Subramanian, a special guest, will share his thoughts on yoga "chakras" and "mudras" at the conference, to be attended by about 500 yoga enthusiasts. — Bernama
