PETALING JAYA: AWC Bhd’s 51% owned environment division has bagged a KL118 Tower Project waste-handling system and two subcontract jobs in Taiwan and India, worth RM27.5 million.
The KL118 subcontract worth RM10.2 million is for the implementation of a solid waste-handling system, awarded by Samsung C&T Corporation UEM Construction JV Sdn Bhd (formerly known as KL118 Tower Sdn Bhd).
This is the second subcontract awarded to AWC for KL118. In January this year, AWC’s subsidiary Qudotech Sdn Bhd was awarded a subcontract for plumbing works for the tower project.
Meanwhile, the jobs in Taiwan and India mark AWC’s maiden foray into the two countries.
Awarded by Evergreen Sky Catering Corp, the subcontract in Taiwan is for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a waste-handling system for a new in-flight catering facility at Taoyuan International Airport. The deal is worth RM7.8 million and is expected to be completed by March 2018.
The subcontract in India worth RM9.5 million was awarded by Shapoorji Pallonji and Co Pte Ltd for the design and supply of an automated vacuum waste collection system. The system is to be installed in the Integrated Industrial Township of Greater Noida Ltd under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor. It is expected to be completed by October 2018.
