ELECTRICAL engineering (sometimes referred to as electrical and electronic engineering) is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the study and application of electricity and electronics.
Electronic engineering involves the design and testing of electronic circuits that use the properties of components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and transistors to achieve a particular functionality.
Lincoln University College (LUC), which was established in 2002 as Lincoln College, and awarded University College status in 2011, provides Engineering Programmes at Diploma, Bachelors, Master and PhD level.
The Engineering programmes in LUC, one of the premier institutions in the country, are approved by both the Higher Education Ministry and Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
LUC's professors, assistant professors and lecturers are highly qualified and experienced in their speciality of engineering.
The institution has both an electronic lab and power lab for its Diploma and Bachelor degree courses. The facilities provided in the electronic lab consist of DC power supply, digital multimeter, function generator, digital oscilloscope, and trainer kit, while the facilities in the power lab consist of three phase and single phase electrical machines, motor and generators, and power electronic.
The classrooms are very spacious and tidy, the library is equipped with ample books and journals to refer and electronic laboratories are fully equipped with basic and advanced equipment. Overall, the learning atmosphere created and provided by LUC is pleasing and soothing for the student to learn efficiently and more interestingly.
LUC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with various governments, private factories as well as engineering centres to provide hands-on practical skills to the engineering students to observe, understand, implement and practise the knowledge learned.
