Batu Pahat Puteri Umno committee member dies in road accident

JOHOR BARU: A Batu Pahat Puteri Umno committee member died after the car she was driving crashed onto an electric power pole today near Batu Pahat during heavy rain.
Sharifah Nadiah Syed Omar, 34, died on the spot in the accident at about 7am at Jalan Johor Bahru-Melaka in front of the Tanjung Laboh Jamek Mosque, said Batu Pahat Police chief ACP Abdul Wahib Musa.
"The accident happened when Sharifah Nadiah was driving a Perodua Kenari from Batu Pahat town to Rengit," he said in a statement.
Abdul Wahib said the body of Sharifah Nadiah, who was from Kampung Parit Kangkong, Bukit Pasir, Batu Pahat, was sent to the Sultanah Nora Ismail Hospital in Batu Pahat. — Bernama
