PETALING JAYA: Officers from Bukit Aman and their colleagues from the Sarawak CID searched the home of Pujut Assemblyman, Dr Ting Tiong Chond (DAP) in Lai Pau Gardens and later his office at the DAP Miri headquarters and finally his clinic in Pujut.
The search, conducted at about 11am on Wednesday, was allegedly done in relation to his citizenship status.
It is learnt that Dr Ting and his lawyer, Alan Ling Sie Kiong were on their way to the police station when the searches were conducted.
However, it was not confirmed if any items were seized during the search.
Allegations of Dr Ting's dual citizenship surfaced when Barisan Nasional's Datuk Hii King Chiong filed an election petition at the High Court Registrar in Miri.
It was alleged that Dr Ting's name was found listed in the Australian electoral roll.
Hii also sought from the Court to render Dr Ting's victory in the state election as null and void.
