Man in dock for killing mother's lover

KUALA LUMPUR: A man was charged in the Selayang Sessions Court, here, today with killing his mother's boyfriend in July.

Hui Nam Fong, 27, was charged with killing Lee Chee Seong, 55, at No. 28, Jalan 3/15, Pinggiran Templer, Batu Caves, Selangor, between 6pm and 9pm, on July 2.

The offence under Section 302 of the Penal Code provides for a mandatory death sentence if found guilty.

No plea was recorded from the man, who is jobless, after the charge was read to him before Sessions Court judge Mahyon Talib because the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

Mahyon ordered the accused to undergo mental examination at Hospital Bahagia in Tanjung Rambutan, Perak following an application by deputy public prosecutor Khairul Azhwa Yusrie Mohamad.

She ordered the accused to undergo the examination for a month and fixed Oct 21 for case mention. — Bernama
