Woman killed in hit and run incident

GEORGE TOWN: A pedestrian was killed after she was hit by a van while crossing the road at Jalan Bukit Gambir near here today.
Raja Noorlian Kamar Raja Busu, 56, was hit by the van coming from Jalan Yap Chor Ee as she crossed from the left to the right side of the road at about 7.15am.
Northeast district police chief ACP Mior Faridaltrash Wahid said Raja Noorlian Kamar from Taman Bukit Jambul was pronounced dead by a doctor at the scene.
Mior Faridaltrash said her body has been sent to Penang Hospital and a post mortem was conducted at about 10am.
