KUALA LUMPUR: Some 3,000 people turned up for the Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival (MIGF) preview to sample some of the bite-sized tasting portions specially prepared by 25 of Malaysia's best restaurants.
MIGF spokesperson Michael Kuscher said the response for the event this year has been overwhelming or the best they had since the festival started some 15 years ago.
"Apart from sampling some of the delicious food served at the Theatre of Cuisine, visitors were also given the opportunity to get valuable cooking tips when they participate in some of the Master Chef's cooking classes and informative workshops.
"Furthermore, this year's line-up of participating restaurants is among its best and most diversified in the Festival's history," he said when met at Berjaya Times Square Hotel yesterday where the preview event was held.
He pointed out that when MIGF begins next month (Oct 1 to 31), special festival menus will be available at each of the participating restaurants.
"To add icing to the cake, these menus will be available at special festival prices designed to make it easier for food lovers to experience the sumptuous food," he said.
Among the participating restaurants are Samplings on the Fourteenth, Marini's on 57, Southern Rock Seafood Restaurant as well as some of Genting Highlands signature outlets, The Olive and L'titude Restaurant, Bar & Lounge.
