Suspected drug trafficker nabbed on north-south expressway

SEREMBAN: The South Zone Highway Patrol Unit arrested a man suspected to be a drug trafficker at Km253 of the North-South Expressway heading south (PLUS) near Senawang together with heroin and methamphetamine worth over RM180,000.
Seremban police chief ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun said the suspect, who was on his way to Kuala Lumpur from Johor Baru, was arrested around 10.30am on Sunday, after police spotted him behaving suspiciously.
"On checking the car driven by the 26-year-old suspect, three packets of heroin wrapped in aluminum foil and a package wrapped in clear plastic believed to be methamphetamine were found in a backpack that was placed in the front passenger seat.
"The heroin weighed 905 grammes while the methamphetamine weighed 1.9 gms. Police also seized cash worth RM800," he told reporters here today.
Muhamad Zaki said, the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine.
He said the drugs brought from Johor Baru was believed to be marketed in the northern states and the suspect has been remanded for a week starting today.
"The suspect had three previous criminal records involving drugs," he said.
