Four athletes who competed in Malaysia Games test positive for banned substances

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Anti-Doping Agency of Malaysia (Adamas) today said four athletes who competed in July's Sarawak Malaysia Games had tested positive for banned substances.
Agency unit head, Nishel Kumar said those involved were a weightlifter, boxer and two archers.

"All were medal winners in the under-21 category," he told a press conference, adding that the weightlifter tested positive for steroids: boxer found to have diuretics in his or her system and the two archers positive for sibutramine.
Kumar said the athletes have a right to challenge the results and have their 'B' sample tested.
"The National Sports Associations (NSA) have until Oct 15 to decide whether the athletes want to have their 'B' samples opened.
"The other option is to admit if they intentionally took the drugs," he said.
All four athletes face a four year ban in line with the 2015 World Anti-Doping Agency code if found guilty.
