KANGAR: Perlis Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man last night announced additional rewards for two Paralympic Games gold medalists, Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi and Abdul Latif Romly.

The additional rewards to be received by the athletes were RM100,000 cash from the state government apart from the development projects in Felda Rimba Mas, Padang Besar, which is the residence of Mohamad Ridzuan, and Kampung Paya Kelubi, Bukit Keteri where Abdul Latif's house would be built.

"The state government is very proud and happy with the success of the two Perlis jewels, so I am happy to increase the reward by an additional RM100,000 each for both of them.

"I also want to announce the Rural and Regional Development Minister (KKLW) was also prepared to give allocations to the state government for developing the home villages of the two Paralympians," the Mentri Besar said when speaking to 1,000 Perlis residents at a thanksgiving feast at his residence here tonight.

Azlan said various forms of development projects required by Felda Rimba Mas in Padang Besar (Mohamad Ridzuan's resident village) and Kampung Paya Kelubi in Bukit Keteri (Abdul Latif's resident village) would be carried by the government. — Bernama
