Book Review - The Dark Beloved

THIS second book in The Changeling series has Aiofe reunited with her human family and their real daughter Eve.
She discovers that despite being in the fairy world for only two days, months have passed in our world, and that people think she and farm boy Shay killed themselves by jumping off the cliff.
She manages to contact best friend Carla but thanks to the secrets she must keep, Carla now thinks Aoife is slightly off her rocker. Shay discovers that his powers are coming to fore and tries to stay away from Carla. As Shay tries to fight his dark powers, he is taken back into the fairy world by a demon.
Aiofe and Carla are forced to enter the fairy world and save him. As the fairy world moves faster than ours, time is of the essence. Old enemies have a score to settle but our heroes make new allies along the way.
The book is a great follow-up to The Changeling, and author Helen Falconer continues to put our favorite characters in interesting situations. Aoife is now trying to be a big sister to Eve and finding out more about herself. And as she does so, we all get to follow her on that thrilling ride.
Falconer has created a wonderful world based on Irish folklore, and we eagerly await book three.
