GEORGE TOWN: Penang-born singing sensation Lee Pei Ling is keeping her song choices for the Sing! China singing competition final close to her chest.
The 16-year-old lass said she was mulling over a few songs but declined to reveal what these were.
She also smiled away when asked what language the songs will be in for her appearance in the final of the competition on Oct 7.
"I am still thinking about what to sing," she said when reporters approached her after Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng gave her RM1,000 as a reward for her efforts in China.
Lee admitted she was facing an uphill task as the other five finalists will also be putting on their best act then.
"I will not give up and will do my best," she nonetheless stressed before being whisked away by her mother who accompanied her to the presentation ceremony with Lim earlier.
In his speech, Lim said he was proud of what Lee had achieved, noting she stayed in his constituency of Air Putih.
"I wish her all the best," he said and hoped she will do well and make the country proud.
Lee is scheduled to return to China with her parents, Lee Luan Sung and Liew Ah Nya, on Thursday to prepare for the finals which is expected to be watched by millions on television.
She made the final after her rendition of Fight Song by Rachael Platten last week wowed the judges comprising top entertainers from China.
Her powerful singing voice has also earned her legions of fans online with videos of her performances widely circulated on various social media platforms.
