EduNation launches 'Tamil Education Project'

    PETALING JAYA: Online education platform, EduNation Sdn Bhd launched the 'EduNation's Tamil Education Project' in conjunction with 200 years of free Tamil education in Malaysia to serve the Tamil community.

    EduNation, an effort of Brickfields Asia College, aims to serve as a platform to provide online education in the Tamil language, specifically catered for some 523 Tamil school students.

    This initiative is a collaboration between EduNation and the Education Ministry where currently, the Standard Three Mathematics syllabus and the Standard One Tamil language are online and can be viewed on the EduNation's website.

    During the project launch, Education Deputy Minister Datuk P. Kamalanathan said, with the incorporation of technology in Tamil schools, this platform would be an excellent opportunity for the holistic involvement of Tamil school students into the EduNation project.

    "Today, Tamil schools have developed so well in terms of its syllabus, infrastructure and facilities. This project will further provide an opportunity for Tamil school students and their parents to engage in the online platform learning system.

    "I am also truly amazed at how the Tamil language has developed, whereby we can also see both Indian and non-Indian students enrolling into Tamil schools.

    "Nowadays, even universities are offering Tamil language and degree programmes, including foreign universities," he said in his opening speech at EduNation Sdn Bhd here today.

    EduNation founder, Raja Singham said the EduNation platform was free for all.

    "Thus, an initiative like EduNation is important to provide access to quality education for all Malaysians, regardless of the socio-economic background.

    "Today's launch of the Tamil content is one more way for us to reach out to students and provide them with the extra support they need to excel in their studies."

    Currently, EduNation has over 90,000 students on its platform and that number is rising with over 3,700 videos covering 12 subjects and available in Malay, English, Mandarin and Tamil. — Bernama
