KUALA LUMPUR: The government wants more companies to adopt Flexible Work Arrangements (FWA) to optimise their productivity and performance.
"A study by Talent Corporation Malaysia Bhd (TalentCorp) has shown that organisations that adopt FWA have higher employee involvement and business productivity," Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said when officiating the LIFE@WORK 2016 awards organised by TalentCorp here today.
He said to date 29 large companies in the country, including Sunway Group, Maybank Group, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, Digi Telecommunications and Johnson & Johnson, are adopting FWA, up from 21 last year.
Firms that adopt FWA also better retain their female employees and enhance the involvement of disabled groups such as people with disabilities and special needs, he said, adding the government also offers a range of initiatives to firms adopting FWA, including multiple tax credits.
Nine companies bagged a LIFE@WORK 2016 award for making FWA a business strategy.
Maybank Group won the Platinum Award, while other winners included Digi Telecommunications (Best Malaysian Organisation), Intel Malaysia (Best International Organisation), Johnson & Johnson (Best Lean Organisation), Gamuda Bhd and Telekom Malaysia Bhd (Best Incentive), Chong Chye Neo of IBM Malaysia (CEO Champion) and Sunway Group (Sustainable Practices) and Starbucks Coffee Co (Innovative Practices).
