Another engineer detained in connection with Sabah graft probe

KOTA KINABALU: Another district engineer has been arrested and remanded in the ongoing graft probe into the Sabah Water Department (SWD).
The officer was arrested at 6.40pm on Sunday.
A source at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that the engineer was produced before at the Tawau magistrate's court where an application by the MACC for a five-day remand was allowed.
Meanwhile, five of the department employees who were among 19 detained on Oct 19 were released on bail yesterday.
The five were freed on RM50,000 bail each.
Investigators have so far seized RM8.4mil in the second phase of their probe.
MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Azam Baki confirmed the latest arrest.
