KUALA LUMPUR: The Football Association Malaysia (FAM) plans to engage a foreign coach who can train local coaches under the Coaches Association of Malaysia.
FAM secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin (pix) in a statement posted on the FAM official Facebook today said the foreign coach would travel throughout the country to share his knowledge and experience with local coaches.
"He (foreign coach) will go to every state to train local coaches and share his knowledge in coaching and aspects of refereeing," he said.
Hamidin said the FAM would also have a meeting with all FAM referees to acquire knowledge about the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), tomorrow.
FAM referees committee chairman Subkhiddin Mohd Salleh and a consultant would brief the aspects of the VAR technology after the meeting in Johor Baru.
VAR is a new technology introduced by FIFA to assist referees as well as improve the quality of refereeing. — Bernama
