PETALING JAYA: OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Bhd has introduced a business banking mobile app – specific to iPhone users initially – that uses biometric authentication, which it claims is the first such app in the country.
The app allows corporate customers to access business account balances and view transactions at the touch of a finger.
In a statement yesterday, OCBC Bank said the app, which will eventually be developed for Android users as well, enables iPhone users to perform numerous tasks, including checking the status of incoming and outgoing funds.
OCBC Bank’s head of global transaction banking Chong Lee Ying said the move is in line with the bank’s commitment to digital innovation and the quest to make its products and services simple, fast and convenient for business banking customers.
“With the biometric authentication feature, iPhone users don’t need to log in to the app using their user IDs and password every time. And they can benefit from it anytime and anywhere, even when overseas.
“This new OCBC app will empower business owners to make decisions on the go by having information, quite literally, at their fingertips,” she said.
She added that the biometric authentication feature will be extended to Android phone users as well together with further transaction capabilities.
