Elderly woman found dead in suspected robbery incident

KUALA KRAI: An elderly woman was found dead in the kitchen of her home in Kampung Mengkebang here today, believed to have been stabbed in a robbery incident.
Kuala Krai district police chief Supt Abdullah Roning said 61-year-old Rokiah Mamat was found lying down with blood stains on her head by her son who had just returned from teaching at a school here, about 3.30pm.
The victim's son found the gate and front door of the house ajar and that the house had been ransacked, he told Bernama when contacted here.
The police forensics unit is still conducting further investigations.
The body was taken to the Kuala Krai Hospital for post-mortem. — Bernama
