The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
Hasnan said the 180,000 pills were packed in 100 packets.
"We are investigating the source of drugs into the state as the seizure of the pills had gone down from 2015.
"We recovered 3,240 pills two years ago and the figure dropped to 2,591 last year ... there was no seizure this year until the latest case," he said.
Hasnan said police were trying to determine if Perak is being used as entry point and transit for the drugs to be distributed to other places.
"We believe the drugs are not from Malaysia but from a neighbouring country," he said.
