Negaraku Expression programme showcases national unity, integration

KUALA KANGSAR: The Negaraku Expression programme showcases the unity and integration of the various communities in this country, said Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak.
The Communications and Multimedia Minister said the involvement of all Malaysians was crucial in reviving the spirit of "Negaraku" which was made prominent with the organisation of the programme.
"I am very happy at the response given by society in this state (Perak) towards the three-day Negaraku Expression programme" he said when met by Bernama after attending the Negaraku Expression programme here today.
The programme was opened by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and was also attended by Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
About 10,000 visitors thronged Dataran Pavilion here as early as 6.15am to take part in various activities to fire up the spirit of patriotism in society including My National Flag Run, aerobic exercise, exhibition stalls and food trucks.
In the meantime, Salleh said the programme would be continued in other states by using the same essence including portraying the successes of the hosts for the knowledge of society.
Meanwhile, members of the public who were met regarded the programme as able to inspire a love for the country.
A GiatMara trainee from Gerik, Aishah Ahmad, 25, said the programme was very beneficial in fostering the spirit of love for the nation.
The programme also gave the opportunity for youths to imbue themselves with a spirit of love for the country other than acquiring knowledge through the numerous exhibitions by government and private agencies," she said.
A private college student, Aqib Azarian Nazuran, 24, from Selangor said the programme was very beneficial and impacted on the person.
A Kuala Kangsar resident, Lim Ah Toh, 30, believed the programme could impact on the young generations on the peace in the country.
"I see the initiative of the government in holding the programme as being very beneficial to the people who love the country," he said. — Bernama
