(Video) Lorry driver arrested over 21-year-old's abduction

RAWANG: Police today arrested a lorry driver to assist in investigations into the abduction of a 21-year-old man in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, two days ago.
Serdang district police chief ACP Megat Mohammad Aminudin Megat Alias said acting on a tip-off, a team from the serious crimes division (D9) nabbed the 27-year-old suspect, who is a local, at Taman Bukit Rawang Jaya in Rawang at 1.30am today.
"We have recorded a statement where during interrogation, the suspect, who is a lorry driver and has no prior criminal record admitted to be involved in the incident. He is the driver of one of the cars used to pick up the victim.
"We are still ascertaining the identities of nine other individuals," he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for four days from today.
Megat Mohammad Aminudin added that the motive of the "abduction" was a misunderstanding involving a woman but a thorough investigation is still ongoing.
On Friday, a group of 10 assailants in two cars arrived at the victim's house at about 3am.
They then pounced on him before forcing him into one of the cars and speeding off.
Megat Mohammad Aminudin said the victim managed to escape at 6am on Friday near Petaling Jaya when the group pushed him out of the car.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
Police are investigating the case under Section 365 and Section 326 for kidnapping and causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons.
