PetGas to benefit from gas liberalisation

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Gas Bhd expects the liberalisation of the gas market with the implementation of the Gas Supply (Amendment) Act 2016 to benefit the company with its regasification and transmission facilities open for third party access.
Managing director and CEO Yusa' Hassan said it is still in discussions with the Energy Commission to iron out the details.
He said PetGas has a one year grace period to prepare the agreements and access codes.
"We're actively discussing in respect of what the customer wants, what rules and so forth. All these are still in discussion," he told a press conference after its AGM here today.
