Hadi’s son new PAS Youth chief

PETALING JAYA: Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi, son of PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, is set to become the new PAS Youth chief for the 2017-2019 session after winning the position uncontested.

He replaces Pasir Mas MP Nik Mohd Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, son of the late PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who is vacating the position due to his age.

The other top posts in the party youth wing also did not see any contest, with Khairil Nizam Khiruddin winning the deputy chief post, and Ahmad Fadhli Shaari the vice-chief.

Kamal Ashaari and Dr Riduan Mohd Nor also won uncontested for the permanent chairman and deputy permanent chairman positions respectively.

The announcement was made by the PAS elections board secretary Wan Rohimi Wan Daud today, following the closing date to accept nominations on April 17.

Meanwhile, all candidates for the 17 positions in the PAS Ulama wing also won uncontested, with both Datuk Dr Mahfodz Mohamed and Datuk Dr Nik Mohd Zawawi Salleh retaining the PAS Ulama chief and deputy positions.
