Police arrest two in Taman Kinrara abduction probe

PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested two suspects to assist in investigation into the abduction of a 21-year-old man in Taman Kinrara, Puchong last Friday.
Serdang district police chief ACP Megat Mohammad Aminudin Megat Alias said acting on a tip-off, a team from the serious crimes division (D9) nabbed the two locals aged 23 and 24 at a restaurant along Jalan SS3 here on Monday.
"The arrests were made between 5pm and 6pm. One of them has a prior criminal record in 2010," he said in a statement today.
Megat Mohammad said the duo have been remanded today and police are still ascertaining the identities of seven other individuals.
On Friday, a group of 10 assailants in two cars arrived at the victim's house at about 3am.
They then pounced on him before forcing him into one of the cars and speeding off.
Megat Mohammad said the victim managed to escape at 6am on Friday near Petaling Jaya when the group pushed him out of the car.
A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media.
Following the incident, police made their first arrest after detaining a lorry driver, who also admitted to be involved in the incident as he was the driver of one of the cars used to pick up the victim.
Police are investigating the case under Section 365 and Section 326 for kidnapping and causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons.
