Ampang PKR Youth chief Adam Rosly claims trial for giving false evidence

PETALING JAYA: Ampang PKR Youth chief, Datuk Adam Rosly claimed trial to six charges, in relation to giving false evidence and using forged documents, at a Sessions court, today.
Sources said the 29-year-old will be charged under Section 32(8) and Section 89 of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (Amlatfpuaa) 2001 for providing falsified statements and documents during investigation and interrogation.
Sources further added the MACC had also seized his house which was bought via cash by Adam for RM1.2 million.
When contacted, MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Azam Baki confirmed the matter but declined to comment further.
The politician was summoned to the MACC headquarters here for questioning at about 2.30pm on April 13 before being detained an hour later.
Adam was probed by the commission in November last year after Red Shirts protest group leader Datuk Seri Jamal Md Yunos invited journalists to view his house in Ampang, questioning the financial status of the young politician in acquiring the luxurious property.
Jamal had claimed the house was valued at RM7 million although Adam said he had paid only RM1 million, adding he had made his money through businesses and family inheritance.
Adam claimed that he had purchased the house in an auction after it was abandoned by its previous owner.
He had only moved into the house two months earlier before Jamal's allegations.
Ampang Umno chief Datuk Ismail Kijo lodged a report with the MACC soon after, urging the commission to investigate Adam's wealth and source of income.
Later, it was also revealed that Adam owned another double-storey bungalow in a gated-community in Putrajaya and several luxury cars.
